This essential component of a FUSION Device comprises one or more application microcontrollers dedicated to executing the device’s main application logic. These microcontrollers operate independently from the core networking functions, focusing on the specific tasks and operations critical to the device’s functionality, ensuring efficient processing and task execution without direct involvement in network communication.
Application Firmware
Software for device operations like sensor interaction and control logic.
Tailored software that resides on the Application Microcontroller, this firmware is intricately designed to manage interactions with sensors, actuators, and to execute the device’s specific operational logic. It addresses the device’s intended functions, ranging from environmental monitoring and user interactions to machine control, by embedding custom algorithms and operational sequences that define the unique capabilities of the IoT device.
Application Microcontroller
Runs device-specific application firmware, leveraging core communication services.
Positioned on the Application Board, this processor is the powerhouse for running the application firmware, orchestrating the device’s specific functionalities and behaviors. It is engineered to manage the main application logic, capitalizing on the secure communication and services provided by the Core Microcontroller to perform its tasks efficiently and securely, thereby ensuring the device’s core functions are executed seamlessly.
Core Board (Modem)
Contains the core microcontroller for network communications and security.
A pivotal component within a FUSION device, the Core Board houses the Core Microcontroller and plays a fundamental role in network communication. It is tasked with establishing and maintaining secure connections to the IoT server, leveraging the microTLS protocol to ensure data is transmitted securely and services are delivered efficiently, acting as the communication backbone of the device.
Core Firmware
Manages network communication and security protocols, using microTLS.

Core Microcontroller

Customer Cloud
End point for IoT data, supporting storage, analysis, and actions.
A bespoke cloud service provided by the customer’s cloud infrastructure, which acts as the ultimate destination for data transmitted from the Application Microcontroller of a FUSION Device to the IoT Server. This component is indispensable for the collection, storage, and analysis of data generated by IoT deployments, playing a critical role in the interpretation and actioning of IoT data.
FUSION Device
Integrates core and application functionalities for local data processing and analysis.
An advanced IoT device that embodies the FUSION technology, integrating core (network communication) and application (device-specific operations) functionalities along with sensors and actuators. These devices are adept at processing and analyzing data locally, leveraging the robust capabilities of FUSION technology to ensure data is securely and efficiently sent to the cloud for further processing or action.
FUSION Technology
Secure, efficient IoT device development and communication framework.

Integration URL
Web address for relaying IoT data to Customer Cloud. Also called Destination URL.
A critical configuration item within the OASIS Database, the Integration URL is a designated web address where data, once received from the FUSION device on the IoT Server, is securely relayed to the Customer Cloud. This process is vital for the storage, analysis, and potential issuance of commands back to the FUSION devices, facilitating a seamless data flow and interaction between devices and cloud infrastructure.
IoT Server
Facilitates secure FUSION Device-cloud communication and OTA updates.
A core cloud service component provided by the OASIS platform, the IoT Server is instrumental in facilitating communication between FUSION Devices and the cloud. It employs the microTLS protocol to ensure secure device authentication, efficient data collection, and the orchestration of over-the-air (OTA) updates, maintaining the integrity and reliability of data transmission.
Management Console

Tenant
Groups devices and users for isolated IoT project management.
A logical partition within the OASIS platform, a Tenant groups a set of devices, users, and configurations, enabling isolated management and operation of IoT deployments. This segregation ensures that data and operations are securely isolated across different projects or organizational units within a company, maintaining data privacy and operational integrity across diverse IoT ecosystems.
