Hardware Overview
Hardware Components
A FUSION device is a combination of three main components: a modem microcontroller, a FUSION hardware interface, and an application microcontroller, allowing for a clearly defined separation of concerns amongst the network communication and the customer application – providing a solid security foundation for the customer firmware development.

What makes the FUSION device reliable and flexible is the hardware separation between the FUSION Core Firmware and the customer application firmware, only requiring basic serial connection to exchange data. Should the customers application firmware crash, the FUSION Core Firmware is not impacted as it runs independently – in turn the companion microcontroller can always be reprogrammed in the event of error.
